Spain ‘09: Day 5

IMG_2454When I think of Day 5 on our Espana Vacation, I think of 2 words: Platinum and wedding, because it truly looked like a wedding that should have been featured on that show!

We were still staying in Alicante, but the wedding was in the town that Cristina grew up in, Villena. It was about a 45 minute bus ride from the hotel. They shuttled all the guests who were staying at the hotel to the church. The wedding started at 8:30pm. Cristina didn’t walk into the church with the Wedding March playing, the choir sang “Hallelujah”. It was different!
The ceremony was 1/2 en Ingles and 1/2 Espanol.
The neatest part of the wedding was when the choir sang Moon River. It was so lovely and peaceful. :)

The ceremony lasted about an hour, and afterward we all headed to the reception. Rumor had it that it was actually held where they have bull fighting, but the bull fighting area was located down some steps I didn’t notice. heheh…
They had so many guests! At least 300!! They served so many tapas (again) and even had an open bar! They also hired a live band. They sang all their songs in Spanish, with 2 exceptions- Amy Winehouse’s “Rehab” and Donna Summer’s “I Will Survive”. LOL. Jho and me danced around when we could.

What made Cristina & Ryan’s wedding one that should be categorized “Platinum”? Well, the fireworks show was one, and then the dinner! First course lobster, followed by a melon mojito, and then we were topped off with filet mignon!! They served us wine, champagne and WATER!! They didn’t cut a traditional cake, they cut something else (we were too far to see), and not with a knife… Cristina hopped into Ryan’s arms and cut their dessert with a sword!! The guests were promptly served a small, decadent, crunchy, chocolate, mousse-y dessert. In addition to that, they gave us fresh fruit.

The couple ate their entire dinner. Their dining was not cut short to take photos. They enjoyed their meal (as did we)! It was probably about 1:30am or so when the we stopped eating. We started dancing and running around and taking photos. We talked to Tito Toto and Tita Chari. They are a fun couple, who told us the story about how they were “destined” to be together… from birth!

I was getting a bit pooped by 3:30 am. But, Spanish weddings don’t end that early. By 4am, I started to smell the ocean, and that could only mean that the kitchen was about to serve the guests paella. Yes, we were NOT done eating yet! I was already soo full, but I still kept eating.

Finally, around 5am, Lola was getting pooped and there was a bus waiting outside the reception to take some people back to the hotel. So, we hopped onto the bus and took a nap until we reached Hotel Maris around 6am.

Anyone can go to Spain and tour the country. But, not everyone can experience a platinum type wedding. I was so lucky and extremely thankful to Tita Charito and Tita Alma. :)

Congrats to Cristina & Ryan!!! :)

Day 5: Cristina y Ryan

“Meow, Meow, Meow” means “Happy Birthday, Kitty & Tracy!”

DSC08644 cThis hottie on the right is my good friend & old roomie, Kitty!
We celebrated her 28th birthday in Temecula eating lunch at the South Coast Winery and of course, we went wine tasting!  Maybe someone else was taking our photo at the same time, and thats why Kitty isn’t looking into the camera. Silly, Kit! It was a joint celebration as Kitty’s good high school buddy, Tracy also celebrated her birthday!

I thought we all had a fun time wine tasting. We tried different types, like rosets and sparkling wines, sweet ones… ya know. The usuals. :) After my 5th sipping, I was getting a bit woozy, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I knew my limit… besides, we’re actually only given 5 tastes. hehehe…

DSC08649 b

This is us right before we headed home.
(L-R): Classy Kitty, the sun was shining directly in my face ONLY, Lovely Lisa, Adorable Aimee, Sweet Mary, Cute Tracy and Gorgeous Romilee. All of them (except me and Lisa) graduated from high school together. Isn’t it great when people can stand the test of time and still be friends? I do…
During college, I would always love to hear stories of Kitty’s friends. I just thought they were so interesting, because Kitty’s group of friends really weren’t anything like mines.

The winery closes at 6pm, so we all went our separate ways… When i got home I took a nap, but that was only to recharge my batteries because I was going to hang out with Kitty and her friends again later that evening.

We met up in Little Tokyo, and thats when I when I saw him– the voice and face of an angel, the body of a greek god– Kitty’s boyfriend, VAN!! LOL. :) Van’s great! The three of us ate at some Ramen House, then met up with all the girls + their boyfriends (which are Van’s high school buds) to go to some bar called Wurstkutche (or something like that), where they also sell sausage. Interesting, right?

All of Van’s buddies are super friendly and welcoming. I haven’t seen any of them for at least 4 years, so it was really nice that they still remembered me, gave me hugs and said, “HI, Irma!!” :) They have the best fun just hanging out with each other. :)

I look forward to seeing them all again.
Here’s a lovely photo of the birthday gals!

Thank you Kitty & Tracy for inviting me! And thank you to the gals & guys for being so welcoming to me. :)

Spain ‘09: Day 4

We arrived in the beach city of Alicante at the end of Day 3. The real reason why we traveled to Spain is finally revealed in this entry. It wasn’t just purely for a vacation, it was because we attended a wedding. I didn’t know the couple, but Jho’s mom, Tita Charito- her best friend since the 6th grade, Tita Alma- her son, Ryan was getting married to his Spanish Sweetheart, Cristina. Did you follow that? :) I hope so…

So, here we are in beautiful Alicante. Our hotel was right next to the beach. Of course we spent some time on the sand and in the “bathwater temperatured” sea (I think it’s the Mediterranean Sea). But, sorry folks, we have no shots on the sand. We didn’t want to get anything in our cameras. But, trust me- the beach was a great place to relax and catch some rays! I got a tan!! COOL!!

We took another hop-on hop-off city tour bus. And, again we sat on the second level. We traveled up a windy road until we got to the Alcazar (castle) of Alicante. It was very high in altitude that I’m glad I didn’t get a nose bleed! It was old, rustic, made of stones. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay at the castle very long, only 10 minutes, because the tour bus was going to leave and the next bus wouldn’t be coming for another hour.
IMG_2127At the top of the castle overlooks the city. Does it remind YOU of another city? I would say Greece for me, but then again, I’d never been to Greece. But for some reason, it feels like there IS another city in the world that would resemble this…
IMG_2217I think this is a really neat photo, because it actually got the bird in flight. Too bad the photo wasn’t centered. I considered myself lucky to get this, though. I hope it’s easy for you guys to see….
We went around and around the city and saw the sights- like City Hall, stores… you know. And afterward, we hit the beach and then got ready to go to Cocktail Hour for Ryan and Cristina.

I have a photo of the groom, Ryan in the Flickr set, but not one of Cristina. But, she is a lovely girl, trust me! They met each other while Ryan studied in Spain. Then they fell in love and all that jazz. We watched a slide show they made and saw all the places they’ve traveled to, and believe me! They’ve traveled alot!

It’s amazing how much food the Spanish eat. We ate a whole lot… Well, maybe you guys won’t think it’s that much… but this was some of the stuff we gobbled-
IMG_2293My fave is the jamon (everyday we ate jamon) and the squiddy thing with potato. No, those aren’t Bloody Marys and margaritas. They’re actually gazpacho and melon!! And the Spanish love anchovies for some reason.  Pix 3 was some kind of tart with anchovy… I’m not a fishy-type gal, really.  But, all in all… WOW!

Isn’t that cool? I don’t know what American wedding does that! And mind you guys… this is the day before the wedding!! I was lucky to experience this! Thank you, again Tita Charito and thank YOU, Tita Alma for allowing me to come along.

Okay, the next entry will be about the wedding. But, i’ll burst the bubble now- I hardly have any photos. :(

Spain ‘09: Day 3

For Day 3, I will just post highlights. Our day was cut a bit short because we needed to catch a train to the next city we were visiting.
Okay, so here we go!!
- Try visiting Museo Nacional del Prado. The museum houses paintings by Goya, Velazquez, Rembrandt, etc. Lots of the paintings depict Catholic events such as the Immaculate Conception, the Death of Jesus… The one painting I suggest everyone to peep is Goya’s “Maja”. He got in major trouble when he painted this, because it was 1.) of his mistress and 2.) he painted her naked. He tried fooling people by painting the same painting, except with the girl’s clothes on… and would switch out the paintings depending on the viewers.

I’m posting this pix, because it is awesome!! You’ll never believe where it’s taken!!
IMG_2052McDONALD’S!! You’ll never see one of these in the US! I enjoyed sitting on the padded seats and eating my Cona Kit Kat… :)

Head over to the Reina Sofia. You’ll see artists like Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. Make sure you visit the Guernica exhibit
IMG_2069An extremely sad story behind this painting.
April 27, 1937 started out a regular day. But, Hilter got permission from the King of Spain to experiment with bombs in the city of Guernica. So many people were killed. The painting expressed the sadness and confusion of the day.
Reina Sofia has a lot of modern art. It’s cool, man!!

IMG_2080_cOh, hey! That’s Jho… and ME! I’m finally posting a photo on my blog to show that I REALLY WAS in Spain!

Baby, Baby, Oh Baby!

When you get to be around my age, there a couple of things to be expected.
1.) Everyone around you is getting engaged or married and
2.) Everyone is starting to have babies.
Now, while number 1 IS happening constantly around me, number 2 is creeping up on me as well.

Who’s having babies you may be asking? My 2 cousins, Dana & Ate Tess.
Two little blessed bundles of joy! Dana and her little baby, Olivia and Ate Tess and her bouncing baby boy, Ethan. But, they’re not here yet!! Expected arrival dates: September 14 and 15, respectively! Isn’t that exciting? We’re all so excited for our cousins! But, with 2 cousins expecting babies around the same time, what does a family do to welcome them? OF COURSE hold a joint baby shower for them! So, Saturday was spent with family eating food, playing games, taking pictures, opening presents and laughing with another.

A special thanks to the Baby Shower Committee who helped prepare and bring food, decorated, think up games and clean up.
It was a good baby shower!! We thought there wouldn’t be enough food to feed our huge family, but we were wrong and by the end of the party, we were struggling to say “no, thanks” to the left over food. We played a couple of games like the “Nursery Rhyme” game where you had to guess which nursery rhyme was up with clues like “three felines who lost their clothes”. This was “The Three Kitten Who Lost Their Mittens”, and e.t.c. Another fun game that was played was “Baby ABCs” where we were given the alphabet and we had to think of baby items that started with each letter. A… for something, B for bottle, C for crib… Q for Quaker Oats. NOT!
Of course we played the baby food game. It was funny because everyone struggled to figure out what foods were being passed around, but if we had taken a look at the containers, we would have seen the name of the food printed. LOL.

We showered our cousins with gifts. Bibs, handmade baby blankets, cute outfits, Olivia got her first pair of tights, Ethan got two of the same outfits, Butt bath… gift cards, diaper cakes, all that good stuff!! :)

IMG_7046

and here are our lovely mommies-to-be, but their bellies aren’t pictured.
We really hope that you guys had a good time at your shower!! We’re all praying for a safe delivery for the newest additions to our family. :)

But, you know who’s also preggie? One of my best friends, Michelle. Her little baby boy (I can’t tell you guys the name they’ve picked just yet), will be making his official debut around October 7. So, my Saturday was also spent with my girl, Michelle at her baby shower. But you know what, else? Our best friend, Paulette is ALSO pregnant as well!! She’s about 4.5 months along. :)

IMG_7116 IMG_7115

And there they are! In all their pregnant, glorious glory!
See, I told you guys that everyone around me was having babies!! :)

Spain ‘09: Day 2

Hola mis amigos! Que tal? :)
Day 2 in our Spain Adventure took us to the city of Segovia. Segovia is located about 2 hours North-east of Madrid. We started our day with a walk to the train station (about 5 minutes away from Hotel Agumar) and hopped onto the high-speed train and situated ourselves for the ride.

Segovia is a hisotoric, old, beautiful city with some dirt roads and some cobblestone streets. One of the most noticeable landmarks in Segovia are the Aquaducts. Here, take a look:
IMG_1787It’s pretty awesome, don’t you think? I don’t know how long ago they were built, but can you imagine putting those together? The weight of it and the heights the “aquaduct makers” had to get up to? Pondering… I ponder.

We visited the Cathedral in Segovia, and it was my first Cathedral other than the Lady of Angels in LA. It was HUGE! I tried to take photos, but it was very dark inside and I think you can never really take photos inside a church without the pictures coming out blurry. So, i just enjoyed all the architecture and details that the church offered, like the high ceilings, the stone sculptures, the paintings, etc. I got myself a bruise when I knelt down in the pew. We’re pretty spoiled nowadays in churches, because the kneelers are usually padded, but not at the Cathedral! ALL WOOD! :)

Not only did we visit a cathedral, but also the Alcazar (Castle) of Segovia. I never visited a castle before, and it didn’t disappoint when we walked across a bridge and looked down to see there was a moat! We were pretty high, too… and still climbed higher in elevation. I started to get a bit nervous at the height we eventually reached.
IMG_1960Believe it or not, but this was not the top of the Castle. We could have gone up the tower, but we had a train to catch…. not (sorta). I mean, it was true we had a train to catch, but we were already pretty high and my knees were shaking. :)

This is my fave photo of the day-

IMG_1904Maybe it’s a bit difficult to see? But, if you look carefully, you’ll see the cobble stones and how tight the streets are! Needless to say, they only have one-way streets! And be careful when walking down the streets!! Cuz, the cars can come down zoooomin’!!

But, maybe the best part of the Day 2 was the train ride back to Madrid. Sitting in the train, listening to Tita Charito telling us old Filipino myths and legends like the Aswangs, Maria Makiling and the dwendes. What made me laugh was when Tita mentioned Lola Basyang. I never heard “her” myself, but remember my parents talk about how Friday nights in the Philippines were exciting because they would gather themselves in front of the radio to hear “her” stories. :) Wanna know more about the legends and myths from the Philippines? Well… Google them!

Spain ‘09: Day 1

Yep, that’s right friends! I went to Spain!
Not too long ago, Jho asked me if I wanted to go with her and her family to Spain! I was so excited and honored to able to have this opportunity!
Thank you so much, Jho & Tita Charito for inviting me!
This was my first out-of-the-country trip since I was 7, so I was very eager!!!

It was a long flight. First landing in Amsterdam. But, upon landing at the Schiphol airport, Jho said to me, “You’re in Europe, Irms!” And I WAS!! :) I excitedly handed my passport to the lady at the Immigrations section of the airport and happily got my stamp. We then hurried and hopped onto another plane that took us the rest of the way.

Hola!!
We arrived at Hotel Agumar around 7pm. But, instead of going out to the see the city, we all decided to just sleep and get ourselves ready for our first real day in Spain.

So, here we go!! Listas? Si!
We decided to take the Madrid Vision City Tour buses around Madrid. It was a hot day in Madrid, Jho, Tita Lily (Jho’s aunt) and me decided to sit on the top deck of the double decker bus. It was neat, because we able to lean our bodies outside the bus and take photos, even though there was a sign that said we couldn’t do that… hehehe. :) Doing the bus tours is a neat thing, because you listen to the history of the city (in the language of your choice) without having worry about driving around.

We got off the bus and headed to the Palacio Real Museum (or the Royal Palace of Madrid). Thank you to Rick Steve’s who wrote a book on Madrid that told us interesting factoids about places like the Palacio Real. And a special thanks to Jho, who was our personal tour guide throughout of stay in Madrid.

I liked the Palacio Real. It’s the palace the King and Queen of Spain stay at (or used to stay at). It was huge, but what palace isn’t? Through Rick Steves and Jho, we toured the palace noticing things like where the King & Queen would sit when they had important dinners, how high the mirrors in the rooms were placed and intricate details in the walls and ceilings. Sorry, no photography allowed. I didn’t realized it until someone shouted from a distance “NO PHOTO!!” Oops…

IMG_1585We went back on the bus and toured around and around and around the city. We probably went around Madrid about 4 or 5 times. But, it was okay. The day was extremely hot and by the time we went around the 3rd time, the weather had cooled and the wind was blowing on us from the top deck of the bus.

We stopped off at the Mercado de San Miguel. You don’t see markets like this in LA that much (unless, maybe you go to a farmers markets), although this did remind me the market I went to when my cousin, Kuya Willie got married in Ohio.
Check out THOSE melons!!

Here are a couple of my favorite shots of the day-

IMG_1389Typical apartments in Madrid. I don’t know where I would find apartments like this in LA.

IMG_1653

I like the composition of the this photo and the effect created when changed to black and white. Maybe it’s the curvature  the photo takes. I took it has i hung out the side of the tour bus. :)
IMG_1455

I should have given this guy a Euro or something for allowing me to take his photo. He played outside the Palacio Real in the sweltering heat. When we came out of the museum, I wondered where he went to. We found him on the other side of the museum playing in the shade.

So, Spain is a different kind of beast than what LA (or the USA) is. Each day, the shops close around 12:30pm-4pm or so that everyone can take a siesta. Sure, it’s a pain for tourists who are trying to eat lunch at a restaurant or change dollars to Euros, but it was okay. Because the siesta allows folks to spend more time with their families during the day and create a bustling night life… and Jho, Tita Lily and I took advantage of it.

At around 9pm, we took by foot and trekked to find a local restaurant to get us some tapas. YUM! We found ourselves at Casa Albertos. It was a tight little restaurant (but not “tight” as in “AWESOME!!” but, “tight” as in “I can’t breathe”), definitely nothing we’re used to in LA. Jho knew what she wanted to get, so I just allowed her to order for me.

casa albertos

1.) The first thing we ate some sort of appetizer. It was served on a slice of toasted baguette and it had, like a roasted pepper, sweet and sticky balsamic vinegar and anchovies. It was okay. There were little bones in the anchovie, that I found myself still picking the bones out between my teeth when we were walking back to our hotel.
2.) Croquets Caseras de Jamon- it has the consistency of mashed potatoes, but maybe a bit thicker and richer. Breaded and deep fried, I happily enjoyed 1.5 of them, even though I had 2 to eat.
3.) Melon con Virutas de Iberico (melon and ham)- I’ve seen it done on the Food Network, but never though the combination of fruit and meat would taste good, but I was wrong! The sweet melon + the salty ham served to be a great combination. But, i think because the ham was so salty, it accentuated the sweetest of the melon. I had to keep sipping water because it was so sweet!
4.) Rabo de Buey Estofado (ox tail stew)- if you like kare kare, you’ll like this! and I loved it! I really liked the fries and the gravy. TRY IT when you go to Spain!
5.) Leche Frita con Salsa de Frambuesas- I’ve never had anything like it! It’s like fried cream cheese with a raspberry sauce! OH, boy… I need to go back to Spain right now so I can eat that again!!

And that was it! We probably got back to the hotel around midnight or so, but that’s expected. Unlike the USA, people in Spain are taught to enjoy their meals. There’s no one taking your plate before you’re done or giving you more food before you’ve finished your last plate and no one waiting around to hand you the bill. You hafta ask for it!

Okay, Spain ‘09: Day 2 will come soon! :)
But, until then… Hasta luego!

Preemie’s Last Fling Before the Ring!

It’s that time yet again, folks! To celebrate the passing of a bachelorette into the scary realm of marriage. Of course, she’s not actually at the altar just yet, but we wanted to celebrate Ate’s last fling!

P1010415The weekend started off with a “cousin’s night”, even though not all the cousins could make it.  But, for those who could: Joan, Ate, me and Jo Anne… and Oliver, we headed off to Glen Ivy for an afternoon of pampering, primping and some massages. This was my first time in a spa… EVER! So, I didn’t know the etiquette on how to get a proper massage. When the masseuse walked in, and up until she finished, we chatted the whole way though! We talked about foods and places to visit, this and that! Upon walking into the lounge area to meet my family, Joan says, “Jeez, Irms! I heard your entire conversation! You’re supposed to BE QUIET when you’re getting a massage! My masseuse had to turn the radio up louder to drown out your talking!”
Bewildered at her comment, I said, “oh, Sorry! I didn’t know! Next time, ok?” :)

After the relaxation, we headed back to Joan & Oliver’s place to prepare for dinner. We dined on a wonderfully tasty cheese platter with salami, some Whole Foods kabobs and some sweet wine. Thanks, Joan and Jo Anne for shopping and putting these things together for us!

Before they went to sleep (I had fallen asleep on the couch for a bit), Ate, Joan and Jo Anne put together the giveaway that Ate & Joan had made for the girls who were coming out to San Diego.
The next day, we drove down to SD and checked into the Westgate Hotel. It was a nice, old fashioned, old looking hotel, but it was classy.
Joan planned an afternoon at Pole SinSation- you guys can get what type of activity we went to. Ate actually enjoyed herself, as did the rest of the girls. I must say, dancing is pretty difficult and there is a new respect for girls who choose that career path. Thank you to our instructor! You are a talented and toned woman!

DSC08620the girls: me. christina. jo anne. sabrina. hiroko. jenny. dolly. joan. ATE. kara. maddi. med

Let’s head back to the hotel to get ready for dinner! Everyone enjoyed salmon, or sea bass or steak. Once dinner ended, we headed back to the room so that some of the girls (Ate’s NHS friends) could give her little presents and to play the “Underwear Game” that Joan thought of. How do you play this game you ask? Well, Joan asked us to get Ate undies that WE would wear, and then Ate had to guess who gave them to her. She had 3 guesses, and if all 3 guesses were incorrect, then she would have to take a shot of cranberry juice, but if Ate guessed correctly, then the giver would have to take a shot. It was a good game full of laughs.

Alright! Then it was time to head out and go bar-hopping! We found ourselves at a bar which used to be an old bank. I didn’t pay any attention to what the name of the bar was, but it was a nice bar… i guess. We danced the night away (or danced about 1.5 hrs) until Christina and I ummm… “decided” to go. So, we headed back to the Westgate and about 30 minutes later, the rest of the girls showed up.

IMG_3949 I think is my fave photo of the bunch. :)

I think Ate had a good time… and that’s what it was all about.
After sleeping in for a bit, and some headaches and breakfast, we checked out of the Westgate.
We had to head back to Joan’s, and Jo Anne and Christina had to get picked up by Kuya Noel and Kuya Alfred, so we called Kuya Jojo and King and had a little mini bbq! It was the best way to end the weekend- with some family!

IMG_3016After all the stressing and planning… all the emailing back and forth… all the complaints from Ate not wanting people to spend too much, all the rearranging of things so that we WOULDN’T spend too much, Ate’s Bachelorette Weekend ended! Joan- thank you so much for planning Ate’s Bachelorette Party! I know Ate loved every moment of the weekend (after she FINALLY stopped being apprehensive about things and just “let go”). Everything was perfect! Ate couldn’t have picked a better Matron of Honor! We love you!!

Hmmm, actually this photo of Ate & Joan is my fave photo of the bunch!!

So, lets continue the countdown…
T-minus 51 days before Ate joins the Club Married.

John & Mel: Workplace Sweethearts

John & Mel- a forbidden love, since their relationship started in the office. Starting this kind of a relationship can be risky, because things might end up badly, but in this situation only good came from it.

2004-
I had met Mel when I first started working here. Kris had introduced us (he was my lead at the time). Through Mel and Kris, I met John & Jho.
The company Christmas party was coming up and I saw Mel is the bathroom.
“Hi Mel! Are you going to the Christmas party?”
“Yes, are you?”
“Yes, I am. Are you going with anyone? Do you have a boyfriend?”
She laughed a little and said, “I’m going with someone…”
“Are you… going… with that one guy, John?” I didn’t know Mel very well yet, and didin’t want to come off nosey, but I made a guess since (at that time), when I would walk around the company, I would always see John hanging around Mel’s cubicle.
“Hahahah!” she said, “It’s going to be our ‘coming out’ party. But, don’t tell anyone…”
“Oh, of course not…”

Up in Cambria Pines, a place I had never visited before, held a quaint and quiet lodge where the ceremony and reception would be held. It was a very intimate wedding- only about 90-100 guests.
Jho and I drove up together. But, due to a bolt wedged in her tire, she was unable to make it to the rehearsal.

The morning of the wedding came, and Jho was out the door to get her hair done by 7:30 am. I rolled out of the bed and started to get myself ready as well. By 11 am, I found my way to the Lodge’s garden and situated myself next to Jamie, Kris’ wife and Kim.

You can say it was an LB-Production.
Kris, aka KB, aka the Rev, presided over the ceremony. He did an excellent job, and was praised by many of the guests. Jho, a bridesmaid, and what a lovely bridesmaid she made. Me- the LB photographer… there to help YOU guys see what the festivites looked like!

The ceremony was sweet and thoughtful…
“Love is patient, love is kind…” was read to us by John’s sister, Lisa.
A passage by Maya Angelou was read by John’s sister, Michelle.
Mel read her delicate vows to John.
John, the romatic soul he is, wiped his eyes as he read the poem he wrote for his amor and then read the vows he wrote to Mel.
There was a handtying ceremony- a Scottish tradition.
And then the kiss.

IMG_0440

The reception was a happy occasion. Her father, Jenny (MOH) and Steve (BM) said their speeches and made us laugh and smile.
Their first dance was to “Sabor a Mi”.
The cake- Oh my! Three different layers… It was specially made for them by the baker in John’s family, Lisa. It was excellent and so beautiful and intricately designed.

John & Mel: workplace sweethearts… and best friends.
Congratulations, Mel & John!
XOXO always…
